MJR Built for Kevin Curtis; the ultimate Dual Sport Motocross bike.
This KTM500EXC no longer resembles what you would find coming off the showroom floor; Mad Jack Racing was able to work with Kevin directly on squeezing as much performance as possible out of this hybrid dual sport motocross platform, while maximizing weight reduction.
A clean, slimmed down, electronics suite pairs with the aggressive X-Trig ROCS triple clamps with dampened bar mounts for precise feel and control at the bars.
Paired with AHM Suspension tuning, and coatings the bike presents a rigid and precise edge to handling - ready to deal with the rigors of a motocross track or urban exploration.
A polished header pairs up with a de-badged and polished FMF RCT 4.1 Stainless Steel muffler for a crisp exhaust note, and increased horsepower.
Orange anodized Dubya USA billet aluminum hubs pair with Excel Takasago A60 rims for weight savings and better rigidity, additionally we swapped the 18" rear wheel with a moto ready 19" wheel for better compliance through whoops, and other track settings.
While we did trim weight in most areas, this bike is still a dual sport, and Kevin opted for a large IMS tank - just in case he needs the extra fuel range. Upfront a BajaDesigns XL80 with full MJR wiring kit is setup to provide light for late-night rides while SicAss Racing provides a smaller taillight unit to clean up the rear end.
We were stoked to see this build coming together, and the fruition of Kevin's vision for the bike. What more is there to say? Enjoy a few more images of the beautiful MJR Built KTM 500 DSMX.
